İZWOOD Fair 2018 Fuar İzmir
İZWOOD 2018 Fair of Woodworking Machinery, Cutting Tools, Hand Tools and Accessories, Forestry Products and Wood Technology organized for the 2nd time this year by TUYAP with the cooperation of AİMSAD as a meeting of woodworking technology and furniture subsidiary industries, was held on 10-14 April in FuarIzmir.
In the fair which welcomed guests with the purpose of being a bridge to allow the sector to reach new markets; machines, technical equipment and services for the forest industry, woodworking machines, surface treatment machines, wood cutting machines, electrical and mechanical hand tools, furniture manufacturing machines were introduced to the sector professionals.
25% growth in visitor numbers compared to last year
12,368 visitors attended the fairs along with PLASTPAK, which was held simultaneously with İZWOOD. The fairs, which were attended by both domestic and foreign visitors, grew by 25 percent compared to last year. The fairs that brought together a total of 206 companies and company representatives from 25 countries in a covered area of 17 thousand square meters brought together a total of 12,368 sector professionals, 567 of which were foreign, and laid the groundwork for important business cooperation for the development of the sector. The fairs, welcoming sector professionals from 54 different cities in Turkey, served as an important bridge for all the companies that work for the growth of Turkish industry to reach new markets.
The fairs hosted innovative products.
PLASTPAK and İZWOOD 2018 Fairs, organized by TUYAP as a meeting of the plastic-packaging sectors and the wood processing technology-furniture subsidiary industries, brought together sector professionals. While many new technologies were introduced for the first time, the products equipped with the latest technologies received a lot of attention from the sector professionals at the fair.
PLASTPAK organized in cooperation with Turkish Plastic Industry Research, Development and Education Foundation (PAGEV), Packaging Industry Association (ASD) and Aegean Plastic Industry Solidarity Association (EGEPLASDER) hosted plastic machinery, chemical and raw materials, molds, heat and control devices, machine side and intermediate industry, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, packaging machinery, packaging products, equipment and systems for the production of packaging, raw materials and intermediates, services, products related to recycling.
İZWOOD 2018 organized in cooperation with Woodworking Machinery and Sub-Industry Businessmen Association (AİMSAD) introduced machinery, technical equipment and services for the forest industry, woodworking machines, surface treatment machines, wood cutting machines, electrical and mechanical hand tools, and furniture manufacturing machines to industry professionals. İzmir Furniture Sub-Industry, Accessories, Forestry Products and Wood Technology Fair held simultaneously in the same area exhibited wooden forestry products, furniture accessories, chemical materials, paints, varnishes, polishes and colorants, living room and bed production materials, production tools, equipment and auxiliary products.
PLASTPAK and İZWOOD 2018 were visited by a total of 12,368 sector professionals, 567 of which being foreigners, from 25 countries.
AİMSAD Board Member Mevlüt Dinç:
"The revitalization of machinery fairs in Izmir is exciting"
Speaking at the opening of the fair, AİMSAD Board Member Mevlüt Dinç stated that the wood processing machinery sector grew in parallel to the growing and developing furniture sector and stated that "İzmir which is one of the furniture production centers is very important for us. It is exciting to see the revival of machinery fairs in Izmir together with the new exhibition area." Reminding that the woodworking machinery sector is the only sector in which exports exceeded the imports of general machinery 2017, Dinç said that their goal is to take this to higher levels in the coming years. Dinç said, "Despite all the negativities experienced in our industry, the wood processing machinery increased its exports by 20% in 2017 and reached 84 million dollars level. Our exports continue to increase in a pleasing manner. This figure is a record for the last 4 years."
University and industry cooperation
Dinç stated that industrials and academicians from university departments related to the industry will come together for a second time on 12-13 April in the Woodworking Machinery Panel, the first of which was organized by the AİMSAD Training and After Sales Services Committee last year at the İZWOOD Fair. Dinç underlined that AİMSAD aims to meet the need for trained staff in the sector and to carry out researches and develop products in universities in accordance with the demand of the industrialists by making this panel a tradition by organizing it every year.
